what are the requirements for the external microphone with YI 360 VR Camera

The YI Type C to 3.5 mm adapter socket expects a 3 pole plug. Now most of the microphones that work with laptops and cell phones are 4 pole plug, by the same token, the YI VR360 camera only work with the 3 pole plug of the external microphone, so we have tested the YI VR360 camera with 3 pole 3.5mm jack listed below and it works on the YI VR360 camera.
