How to use Home and Away mode in YI Home app
On the Home screen in the YI Home app, there are two modes at the top of the screen called Home and Away. The app works the same for iOS or Android.
To set the Home mode for please refer to the steps below -
- From the YI Home or Kami Home app home screen, tap on the Home button.
- Choose devices that you want to set for Home mode and tap confirm button
- Once the devices are confirmed, tap on the Switch to Home mode button. Smart detection will be turned off for all the devices that were selected.
To set Away mode for please refer to the steps below -
- From the YI Home or Kami Home app home screen, tap on the Away button.
- Choose devices that you want to set for Away mode and tap confirm button
- Once the devices are confirmed, tap on the Switch to Away mode button. Smart detection will be turned ON for all the devices that were selected.
4. To add or remove an existing device from Home / Away mode, go to Accounts screen and tap on Home/ Away Settings, and select or remove devices as per need.
If a customer has a pin code they need to disable the pin code in order to switch between home and away mode. To disable the pin code go to the home screen in the app. Click on the camera and select Settings.
Then scroll to the bottom of the page and toggle off the PIN Protection. Enter your PIN (4 digit number). Now the PIN has been disabled. You can switch between Home and Away mode.
